OSC Innovation collaborated with Acea to create the lighting for Rome Capital.
Over half a million 360° pixel spheres visible from below and above along all of Via del Corso, where almost 70,000 meters of high-power LED strips adorn the promenade. A luminous, engaging and immersive story, with an installation that harmonizes with the structure of traditional streetlights and further enhances them, transforming them sustainably into a changing and welcoming light pattern that further beautifies the heart of the Eternal City.
Thanks to ACEA's innovative strategic vision, once again Rome Capital confirms its uniqueness and excellence in being an open-air museum, with a globally significant event. An advanced solution for concept and technology that transforms streetlights into a dynamic screen while respecting tradition. The 1.8 km long and 6 meter wide strip is composed of 40 rows of addressable RGB pixels, powerful and lightweight, that traverse the 1500 meters of Via del Corso in a embrace of light. The solution can be configured both as classic streetlights or with innovative and engaging effects, dynamically varying as a multimedia screen.
Completing the route are the architectural projections visible on the facade of Palazzo della Presidenza del Consiglio - Galleria Alberto Sordi, and the four illuminated portals at Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Venezia, Largo Chigi and via dei Sabini. But it doesn't end there; new content will soon be revealed to celebrate Christmas, New Year's Day and Epiphany.
